Update On the Christina Lopez Case In Galveston County, Texas

Hector A. Pena, age 45, the driver of the 18 wheeler truck that ran over Christina Marie Lopez, age 11, has been indicted for manslaughter by a Galveston County Grand Jury.  Lopez was run over while waiting on a school bus at a bus stop on September 24, 2012 near her home in Texas City. See previous story: http://www.simmonsandfletcher.com/blog/auto-injury/mindful-children-bus-stops11-year-girl-killed-semi-texas-city-monday-sept-24-2012/.

According to her obituary, “Christina loved spending time with her family and going to church. She attended Levi Fry Intermediate School where she was in the choir and spirit squad. She loved designing, modeling and drawing. She also had a passion for roller derby, her roller derby name was Diva Destroy-Her.”

She will no doubt, be missed dearly this holiday season.  Please pray for her family. Hopefully, the case will result in an explanation for the family of what happened.
