Houston, TX (July 31, 2021) – Officers with the Houston Police Department say that one person died on Saturday, July 31, in a major crash that occurred just south of downtown.
Police say that the incident happened around 10:40 a.m. in the 2000 block of Emancipation Avenue at Gray Street. It wasn’t clear what exactly led up to the collision or how many people were injured, but Houston police confirmed that there was at least one fatality as a result of the accident and more than two cars were involved.
One of the drivers involved in the crash remained on the scene to speak with officers.
Houston authorities have not yet released the name of the victim who died, however, and say that their investigation is ongoing at this time.
