Houston, TX (July 13, 2021) – A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed on the South Beltway feeder road early Monday morning, July 12, per reports from authorities.
Officers with the Houston Police Department, as well as deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, are investigating the deadly accident. They say they were dispatched to the scene, located at the Sam Houston Parkway in westbound feeder road lanes, around 6:00 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim lying in the road with critical injuries. Despite life-saving measures attempted, the person was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS units. Their identifying details have not yet been released.
All southbound lanes were blocked near South Main Street, and officers were redirecting traffic off the feeder road onto South Main as they completed the on-scene portion of their investigation.
