Houston, TX (August 2, 2021) – Two people were killed in a wrong-way accident that occurred near The Woodlands early Sunday morning, August 1, officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed.
Officers with the Houston Police Department say that the crash happened around 1:45 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the North Freeway near Rayford. DPS officials said five people were trapped inside one of the vehicles after the incident, though it’s unclear if the two deceased victims were traveling in the same car or separate cars.
EMS units were dispatched to the scene and transported multiple victims to an area medical center. Their current conditions are unknown.
