Houston, TX (March 31, 2021) – Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred on Wednesday morning.
Authorities said a person was fatally struck in a hit-and-run on the Eastex Freeway service road near East Mount Houston Road. Paramedics and officers were dispatched to the scene around 8:30 a.m. They said that a driver hit the victim and then fled the scene before police arrived. EMTs attempted life-saving measures on the victim, but they were pronounced dead before they could be transported to a hospital.
The accident is still under investigation and police have not released details about the driver or their vehicle.
