Houston, TX (September 30, 2021) – On Wednesday evening, September 29, one woman died as a result of a two-car wreck that occurred on U.S. Highway 59.
Per the initial information from officers on the scene, the woman was driving towards Hamilton Avenue when another vehicle traveling eastbound towards Pierce collided with her car. The force of the impact caused the woman’s car to go over the barrier and fall onto the southbound Southwest Freeway.
On arrival, EMS rushed the woman to Memorial Hermann Hospital. She was later declared deceased. Officials are investigating whether a third vehicle was involved in the accident.
Investigators also believe that one of the drivers ran a red light.
Troopers are continuing to investigate the accident at this time, and no charges have been filed.
