The Law Firm of Simmons and Fletcher, P.C., is proud to announce that two of its attorneys, Paul H. Cannon and Sharon Simmons-Cantrell, have been recognized in the 2027 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America.®
Best Lawyers in America is a legal publication and directory that admits or denies lawyers annually based upon a review of the lawyer’s standing with the bar and a peer review selection process. According to their site, they distribute ballots to listed attorneys within the same geographical areas of practice with the question “If you were unable to take a case yourself, how likely would you be to refer it to this nominee?” Nominees are given a 1-5 rating, with room to leave additional comments. Replies are then reviewed and checked against state bar standings and ethics committees to determine if the lawyer meets ethical standards. Lawyers who are well recommended by peers and are in good standing are then selected for the directory.
Keep in mind that admission to such a directory does not establish any specific credential or denote any determination of special competence; it is simply meant to provide prospective clients with one more tool by which to help evaluate potential counsel.
