Meet Erica Scardion of the Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce on this episode of Meet Houston Missions. The Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce is a place where Christian business leaders and mission leaders meet to network and serve their communities. This platform was intentionally created for professional men and women who tiptoe between the secular and the sacred M-F 9-5 in the workplace. From education to edification, the chamber promotes personal growth and professional development.
The chamber was originally launched on February 20th, 2020 with the first monthly networking breakfast. The chamber had just over 100 businesses and organizations represented. Unfortunately, the pandemic shut everything down in March kicking off an 8-month pause. The chamber re-launched in October 2020 with in-person meetings, and we’ve been enrolling and growing ever since.
How the Chamber Serves Members
Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce offers support for local commerce in a unique way! The chamber provides the following to its members:
- Education and encouragement to its members through an impressive line-up of accomplished guest speakers who contribute their success to their faith.
- Digital professional development and faith-building tools are accessible to members and their staff online 24/7.
- Access to third-party legal services that educate members on their religious liberties and defend their freedoms.
- Business promotion through complimentary eBlasts, social media posts, and soon-to-add video promotion.
- Access to local and state elected leaders.
The chamber plans to expand into the greater Houston area in the future.
How to Get Involved
Attend a Chamber event and join or sign up online. The Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce invites representatives from any Katy area business, or organization, to experience the support they have in this local chamber! Interested persons may join the chamber by completing the application online or in person at a chamber event. Dues can be found online.
Chamber Events and Fundraisers
Currently, there are two chamber events recurring monthly in Katy. Both are open to the public. The chamber’s networking luncheons occur on 1st Wednesday, and the networking breakfasts every 3rd Friday, monthly. Please visit www.kaychristianchamber.com and click on “events” for a complete list.
The Chamber partners with local charities to raise awareness, enroll volunteers, and collect donations. The chamber also serves to connect missions and local businesses to partner together and serve the community. Starting in January, Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce will be supporting Katy Christian Ministries by collecting food and personal items at all chamber events. Anyone who brings donations to chamber events will receive a discount on their next event ticket.
