In April 2022, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that Bestar – a popular bed company that is sold at Costco.com, Wayfair.com, Cymax.com, and Amazon.com – issued a recall of several foldable wall bed models due to a risk of falling and potentially causing severe crush injuries or even death to anyone nearby. Among the 60 people who have so far reported injuries was a 79-year-old woman who tragically died in 2018 following a spinal injury from the crushing impact of a falling wall bed.
Which Murphy Beds Are Included in Bestar’s Recall?
The recalled Bestar wall beds include a variety of different Murphy-style full- and queen-sized beds that were sold for around $1,650 to $2,200 per bed on the aforementioned online retailers. The following models are included in the recall:

The recall pertains to customers who purchased the aforementioned models of Bestar wall beds between June 2014 and March 2022. All customers who purchased a recalled Bestar wall bed should stop using it immediately. Bestar is currently contacting all known customers who purchased a recalled model directly to offer a free inspection. If the wall bed needs to be reinstalled, Bestar is fronting the cost.
